KATHMANDU: NOV. 2 – The government has reduced the fee for the COVID-19 test for Nepalis going abroad.

According to the secretariat of Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale, the fee charged for testing COVID-19 from Nepali passengers abroad from Tribhuvan International Airport has been reduced from Rs 2,000 to Rs 1,200.

During the monitoring at Tribhuvan International Airport last Friday, Minister Ale instructed Nepalis to go abroad to reduce the fees for RDT and PCR tests as they were too high.

At present, the laboratory has been instructed to reduce the fee, said Suresh Prasad Khanal, Chief of Operations, Tribhuvan International Airport. Within the airport premises, Star Hospital, TG Medicine Distributors, Crystal Diagnostic, Alpha Health Care and Diagnostic, Clinical and Molecular Genetics, Corona Trading Company, Siddhi Polyclinic and Law Lab were collecting samples for PCR.
