Karnali Chief Minister Shahi resigned
KATHMANDU: NOV. 1 – Karnali Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi has resigned. Shahi resigned in the name of the Karnali people today.
Shahi, who was appointed as the Chief Minister after the state assembly election in 1974 BS, has resigned after three and a half years. From now on, there will be a Congress-led government. Earlier, after the split of the then CPN (Maoist), Chief Minister Shahi had sought the support of the Nepali Congress in a vote of confidence in the House. He resigned as per the agreement reached at that time.
He has resigned from the post of Chief Minister as per the agreement of the Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Center, CPN (Unified Socialist), People’s Socialist Party (JSP) and other parties.
Chief Minister Shahi revealed that he had resigned to form a Nepali Congress-led government. He also claimed that he had conducted honest politics by paving the way for the formation of a new government as per the agreement reached between the parties.
