Demonstration of lawyers at SC demanding the resignation of the Chief Justice

KATHMANDU: OCT. 31 – The Nepal Bar Association has been protesting demanding the resignation of Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana. Announcing the program of the five-day agitation, Bar has stated that they will hold a sit-in in the Supreme Court for one hour daily from today to Wednesday wearing black bandages.

The association has stated that it is preparing to boycott the session, block the Chief Justice from entering the Supreme Court and take to the streets.

Earlier in the day, the judges held a general discussion on the issue of habeas corpus. The meeting ended with a detailed discussion today. There are 21 judges working at the Supreme Court including Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana.
