UML has reached 1,999 delegates to the General Convention

KATHMANDU: OCT. 29 – CPN (UML) has increased the number of delegates to participate in the 10th General Convention. A meeting of the Central Committee held on Friday discussed the proposal made by the Standing Committee for the National General Convention to be held from November 26 to 28. The number has been increased from 1,536 to 1,999.

According to Secretary Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, the number of delegates has been increased to 400. A meeting of the standing committee on Thursday proposed 1,536 delegates. However, Gyawali said the number was increased after leaders in the central committee demanded an increase.

Likewise, today’s meeting has added 23 members to the General Convention Main Management Committee. Among the added members are leaders Raghuji Panta and Sher Bahadur Tamang.

Today’s meeting has set the date for the election of UML representatives on Nov. 13. The party has stated that it will use an electronic voting machine in the general convention. For that, the machine was tested before Friday’s meeting.

After this, the next meeting of the UML Central Committee will be held in Sauraha on Nov. 25. After that, the UML will go to the general convention.
