The case has been fixed for hearing in the Supreme Court
KATHMANDU: OCT. 29 – Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana has fixed the bench for hearing the case in eight sittings today. There is also a joint bench of Chief Justice Rana and Justice Dr Kumar Chudal in the case. A single and joint bench of other judges has been fixed but the hearing has not started yet.
The case has not been heard since last Monday, as questions were raised in the court over allegations that the chief justice sought to expand the cabinet and other judges refused to hear the case. Last Monday, a full meeting of the Supreme Court was held to resolve the issue, but the meeting could not be held.
Chief Justice Rana said that he was given the responsibility as the Chief Justice by the constitution and law and that he was capable of fulfilling it. He also urged other judges to fulfill their responsibilities as per the constitution and law. Due to the refusal of the judge, the case could not be heard.
