Ncell honored with two categories of World Communication Awards

KATHMANDU: OCT. 29 – Ncell Axiata has won the prestigious ‘World Communication Award 2021’ in two categories, ‘The Social Contribution Award’ and ‘Crisis Response Award’. The winner of the award was announced at a function of the Total Telecom Congress held on October 26.

The World Communication Award is given to various companies based on the latest developments and excellence in the global telecom market. The company said that Ncell has been given the ‘Social Contribution Award’ for its significant contribution to the development of society through various social initiatives by giving top priority to health, education and environment.

The company also said that the ‘Crisis Response Award’ was given in recognition of the assistance rendered to the government and the community during disasters such as the COVID-19 epidemic, the 2072 earthquake and the 2071 and 2074 floods. The Crisis Response Award has been included in the World Communication Awards from this year only. Ncell has succeeded in winning this award by beating other competitors in the world.

“These honours are not only an important contribution we have made to the development of the society and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals but also our contribution to the government and the Nepali community in times of disaster,” said Andy Chong, Ncell’s Chief Executive Officer. Ncell recently won the ‘Asia’s Best Employer Brand Award’.
