PM Deuba is leaving for UK today
KATHMANDU: OCT. 29 – Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is scheduled to leave for the United Kingdom today leading a Nepali delegation. A delegation led by the Prime Minister will leave for the United Kingdom today to attend the 26th Summit of the World Leaders of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26) in Glasgow on November 1-2.
Prime Minister Deuba will attend the inauguration of COP26 on November 1 and address a conference of world leaders. In addition, Prime Minister Deuba will hold bilateral sideline talks with heads of state and government. Earlier, on October 30, Prime Minister Deuba will address a reception hosted by the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Nepal (APPG-N) and the UK-Nepal Trade and Investment Forum.
While in the UK, Prime Minister Deuba will meet with the UK-Nepal Society, the Non-Resident Nepali Association and Nepalis in the UK. Deuba will attend a reception hosted by the Nepalese Embassy in London on October 31. He will also meet members of the Gurkha Veterans Association, British MPs and other members of the Nepali Diaspora.
Prime Minister Deuba will attend a reception hosted by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on the evening of November 1. On November 2, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Johnson and the First Minister of Scotland will attend a breakfast reception. Prime Minister Deuba is scheduled to visit the Royal Botanic Gardens on November 3. There he will address the audience. Prime Minister Deuba will plant saplings in the Nepali Garden.
The Nepali delegation will include Prime Minister Deuba, Forest and Environment Minister Ram Sahay Yadav and senior government officials. The Nepali delegation will return from the UK on November 3 and will arrive in Nepal on November 4, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The COP26 is taking place from October 31 to November 12 in Glasgow, Scotland.
