Parliament: Settled after 16 days, adjourned for 18 days
KATHMANDU: OCT. 28 – The meeting of the House of Representatives has been adjourned for 18 days. In the meeting of the House of Representatives held on Thursday, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkata read out a letter from the President’s Office regarding the resignation of Gajendra Bahadur Hamal.
Similarly, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dilendra Prasad Badu presented the annual report of the National Dalit Commission on behalf of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. After that, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota presented the notice of the absence of the MPs for approval.
MPs Jhala Nath Khanal, Karma Ghale and Pradip Giri were absent from 13 meetings due to illness. After this, Speaker Sapkota informed the House that the meeting was adjourned for 18 days. Earlier, the meeting was held on Oct. 11.
The main opposition party UML maintained its slogan during the meeting. UML, which has been chanting slogans in the parliament since last Sept. 8, had maintained its slogans even today.
After the UML maintained its slogan, Speaker Sapkota reminded the old issues in the old style. However, UML MPs did not stop chanting slogans. UML in particular has been saying that the Unified Socialists led by Madhav Kumar Nepal should not be allowed to enter the parliament.
