Govt. reached district headquarters after four and a half months to meet the victims

POKHARA: OCT. 28 – Eleven houses in Sondha, Madi Rural Municipality-1 of Kaski were completely damaged by the floods on June 15. The villagers hung the Tripal (Canopy) given by the villagers. Some took refuge in a neighbour’s house.

The state government in Pokhara has reached with Rs 1 lakh after four and a half months. On Wednesday, Chief Minister Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel inspected the flood-hit area and handed over relief. Each house has been handed over at the rate of Rs 1 lakh.

The state government has been transferring Rs 200,000 to the victims in Manang and Rs 100,000 to the victims in other districts. Bhowmaya Jaishi, Chitra Kumar Gurungseni, Tek Bahadur Gurung, Pushpa Gurung, Harka Bahadur Gurung, Laxmi Gurung, Chitra Bahadur Gurung, Bodhraj Baral, Hum Prasad Gurung, Kesh Bahadur Gurung and Dudhraj Gurung of Sondha have been provided relief.

Chief Minister Pokharel said that the state government has always been with the people in their happiness and sorrow. ‘Three tiers of government have their own responsibilities and jurisdictions. The state government is ready to fulfil its responsibility within its area to the best of its ability, ‘he said. We are in the process of normalizing the situation. “
