Chief Justice ready to face impeachment, says ‘I will not resign’
KATHMANDU: OCT. 26 – Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana has taken a stand not to resign. Instead, he said he was ready to face impeachment. In an interview with the BBC, he said: “I do not know. I am a person from the process of constitution. We have to go through the process of the constitution. ‘
He has made it clear that he is not under any pressure or influence. “I am just happy to be free from the demands of the people,” he said. I am ready to face any situation. I am not in favor of resigning. ‘
The Nepal Bar Association has also asked Chief Justice JB Rana to resign. He is accused of seeking a seat in the Council of Ministers and not showing interest in creating a spotless court. Since then, he has been widely criticized for resigning.
