KATHMANDU: OCT. 26 – Nepal lost to Iran 4-0 in the first match of the group stage of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers. Nepal managed to hold Iran to a goalless draw in the first half but lost four goals in the second half.

The first half ended in a draw after Iran failed to score on a penalty in the first half at the Republican Central Stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

Nepal will play host Tajikistan on Thursday and the final match of their group against Lebanon on Sunday.

In the next match of the group, Lebanon and Tajikistan will play today. The team at the top of the group will be selected in the final round. Similarly, the best four teams from second place will also be selected in the final stage.
