Nepal and Iran are facing each other in the Asian Cup qualifiers today

KATHMANDU: OCT. 25 – Nepal is competing with Iran in the Under-23 Asian Cup qualifiers today. In the first match of the Under-20 Asian Cup qualifiers, Nepal is going to play a stronger team against Iran.

Nepal’s head coach Bal Gopal Maharjan has said that he is ready to get good results in the selection. However, it will not be easy for Nepal to win against Iran. Nepal has not lost in the under-23 match against Iran so far. Nepal is going to play Iran for the second time in the Under-23 Asian Cup qualifiers.

Earlier, in 2015, Iran had defeated Nepal 5-0 in a match played at its home ground. The game will start at 5:15 pm Nepali time at the Republican Central Stadium in Tajikistan. Nepal is in Group B along with Tajikistan, Lebanon and Iran. Nepal will compete against Tajikistan in the second match on Oct. 28 and Lebanon in the last match on Oct. 31.

The top 11 teams in the selection will play in the AFC Under-23 Asian Cup. Similarly, the best four teams from the second team will also be selected in the Under-23 Asian Cup. The final round of the tournament is scheduled to take place in Uzbekistan from June 1 to 19, 2022.
