Two children buried to death in rainfall-triggered mudslide in Dharan

DHARAN: OCT. 19 – Mudslide triggered by incessant rainfalls has buried two children of Dharan-13 Nageshwor Marga.

They were buried to death at around 2 pm on Tuesday afternoon after a mudslide enveloped the one-story corrugated home. The deceased are 4-year-old Nihan Rai and 8-year-old Nishu Rai.

Soon after receiving the information, the Area Police Office of Dharan had deployed a rescue team. The team removed buried bodies at around 3:30 pm, said Dharan Police Office.

According to DSP Narendra Kraki, the Spokesperson at District Police Office Sunsari, rescued children were rescued to Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Heal Science.
