Mahakali floods exceed danger level, movement of vehicles and people banned at Sarada Barrage

DHANGADHI: OCT. 19 – The water level in the Mahakali River has crossed the danger level after continuous rains since Sunday night. According to the measurements taken on Tuesday morning, the water level in Mahakali has risen to 391,000 cusecs, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Siddharaj Neupane, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur.

He said that the traffic at Sarada Barrage traffic was stopped after the water level in the river exceeded the danger level. The movement of vehicles and people at Sarada Barrage has been completely banned.

DSP Neupane informed that many families were affected when the river Mahakali entered the area and data collection and rescue work was underway.
