Four arrested for force-feeding human excreta to woman

JALESHWOR: OCT. 18 – Four people have been arrested by the Mahottari Police for force-feeding woman human excreta on the accusation of practicing witchcraft.

A group of four including two women forced a woman of Suga village of Jaleshwor municipality-4 to eat human feces last Wednesday. The arrested are Puranidevi Mahato, Pramila Devi Mahato and her sons Sikindar and Anil, the District Police Office said.

The victim was called a witch when a 13-year-old daughter of Purani Devi started crying upon seeing her while she was strolling near the house of Puranidevi.

The group of four then grabbed the woman, tied her to an electric pole nearby the house of Puranidevi, shaved her hair, stripped her off clothes, put black smear on her face and force-fed her human excreta. The police have gathered evidences supporting the crime from the site.

Further investigation into the case is going on, Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Acharya said.
