Nine killed in road accident in Chitwan
CHITWAN: OCT- 17 – Nine people have been killed in an accident in the district during Dashain. Nine people have died in 19 accidents between Oct. 7 and 16.
According to the District Traffic Police Office, Chitwan, 23 people were injured in the accident. According to the office, 28 vehicles were involved in the accident.
Road accidents were especially on the inner road. Two-wheelers were the most common cause of accidents. Chief Inspector of Police Bhagwan Raj Thapa informed that the number of accidents has increased due to the consumption of alcohol.
He said that the number of accidents has increased due to high speed, overcrowding and narrow roads. He said that the number of accidents has increased in the eastern part of the district. He said that the office has intensified the vehicle check-up as the number of road accidents will increase during the festival.
