Man dies after being bitten by snake

TAPLEJUNG: OCT. 16 – A man has died after being bitten by a snake at Phungling Municipality in Taplejung district today morning. Bishnu Bahadur Ghatani of the municipality-9 died at the district hospital, said Rakesh Yadav, information officer for the district police office.

A delay in providing medical treatment to Ghatani is blamed for his death. Initially, Ghatani was taken to a local witch doctor and he was given homemade medicines, but to no avail, said villagers.

He breathed his last shortly after he was admitted to the hospital, said the district police office.
