Bus accident in Mugu: Injured being brought to Nepalgunj by two helicopters
KATHMANDU: OCT. 12 – According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, two helicopters have been sent to the spot to rescue the injured in a passenger bus accident at Pina Tapnekhola in Chhayannath Rara Municipality-7 of Mugu district.
Home Ministry spokesperson Phanindra Mani Pokharel said that Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand had instructed to rescue the injured as soon as possible and a Nepal Army and Summit Air helicopter had reached the spot.
He said that work is underway to bring the injured to Nepalgunj by helicopter.
Spokesperson Pokharel informed that the injured were being brought to the airport from Surkhet by a Nepal Army helicopter. Spokesperson Pokharel said that a Summit Air helicopter was also bringing the injured to Nepalgunj.
At least 22 people were killed when a bus (Ve 1 Kha 3167) heading for Gamgadhi from Nepalgunj met with an accident on the Jumla-Mugu road section, police said. Home Ministry spokesperson Pokharel said that the condition of 17 of the injured was critical.
Home Minister Khand has also given strict instructions to the Chief District Officer of Mugu, Nepal Police and Chief of Armed Police for immediate rescue. A team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Chitra Bahadur Bhattarai from District Police Office Mugu and Assistant Inspector Jorasingh Khadka from Pina Police Post Mugu has reached the spot, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
