State government to provide one lakh each to the families of victims of the Motipur incident
KATHMANDU: OCT. 12 – The Lumbini State Government has decided to provide Rs one lakh each to the families of those killed in the incident at Motipur in Rupandehi. Chief Minister’s Press Coordinator Man Singh BK informed that the government has decided to provide cash assistance to the family of the deceased and take responsibility for the treatment of the injured from both sides.
At today’s meeting of the Security Committee, Chief Minister Kul Prasad KC assigned Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications Tilak Ram Sharma to provide relief.
Chief Minister KC has directed the Chief District Officer of Rupendehi to form a squatters’ problem solution suggestion task force to solve the problem of real squatters of Motipur. During the meeting, Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications Sharma said that the incident was sensitive and requested everyone to be vigilant for the coming days and be sensitive. The meeting was attended by the security forces of Lumbini province.
Four people were killed in a clash between police and a group trying to occupy the land of an industrial area under construction in the name of squatters in Motipur of Butwal Sub-Metropolitan-17 on Sunday.
The injured policemen were sent to Kathmandu for further treatment
Four Nepal Police and Armed Police Force personnel injured in the clash on Sunday have been taken to Kathmandu for treatment.
A total of 74 people, including the Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and the general public, were injured in the clash. Four persons, including two Nepal Police personnel and two Armed Police Force personnel, who were seriously injured in the clash, have been taken to Kathmandu for further treatment, said Manoj KC, Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Rupandehi.
Jaiprakash Tharu, 28, of Butwal Area Police Office and Yagya Raj Pun Magar, a police constable of Riot Police Control Sunwal have been sent to Kathmandu for treatment.
Constable Tilak Bahadur Dhami, 36, and Khusiram Chaudhary, 36, of Armed Police Force Nepal No. 28 Gana Kapilvastu have been sent to Kathmandu, according to the Armed Police Force.
