Helicopter landed at Pokhara Airport which was under construction, inspected by Prime Minister Deuba
POKHARA: OCT. 11 – Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has inspected the Pokhara International Airport under construction. He landed at the new airport by helicopter on Monday.
He reached the new airport from the currently operating airport and flew to Kathmandu from there. During the inspection, he instructed to complete the work on time. Stating that the government will solve the problem now, he urged to work without delay. The project company briefed Deuba about the progress of airport construction.
“I am just happy to see the construction of the airport. I am confident that the work will be completed on time, ‘he said in a brief conversation with the press. It is released immediately. I say don’t stop any work by coordinating with the Ministry of Finance for sewerage and other works. ‘
Project Chief Vinesh Munkarmi had said that the airport itself was inundated due to poor drainage at the airport. He also requested to move the landfill site immediately. Similarly, the eastern ridge will have to be cut 40 meters. But since the federal government has not paved the way, there has been a problem in cutting.
The construction of the airport has been postponed for one year due to COVID-19. It is said that international flights will be available from next New Year.
