State 1 government appointing politics in full swing
BIRATNAGAR: OCT. 11 – The state government has started appointing politicians in full swing. A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Sunday evening has formed the State Tourism Board and appointed officials in the State Sports Development Board.
The cabinet meeting has also decided to appoint a state labor advisor. Wawa Meyangwo of Panchthar has been appointed as the vice-chairman of the State Sports Development Board of State 1 and Krishna Basnet (Parshuram) of Biratnagar has been appointed as the member secretary. It has been decided to appoint Bhesraj Karki (Sunsari), Biplav Ghosh (Sunsari) and Thalu Rajbhandari (Okhaldhunga) as members.
The state tourism board has also been completed by the government. Even though the law was enacted two years ago, the state tourism board could not be formed. According to the rules, the 11-member board will have the secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment as the chairperson, an official of the Ministry of Finance, a representative of the Chief Minister’s Office and the Council of Ministers, and a chief member of the tourism division of the ministry.
According to the Office of the Chief Minister and the Office of the Council of Ministers, the state tourism board has been formed as per the arrangement of six people who have been involved in the industry and tourism sector for the past 10 years. As per the recommendation of the Nomination Recommendation Committee, Phanindra Adhikari (Biratnagar), Devi Gautam (Sunsari), Bhim Raj Rai (Solu), Umesh Ghimire (Dhankuta), Prerna Thapa (Itahari) and Indira Shrestha (Birtamode) have been appointed to the Board. And Environment Minister Lachhuman Tiwari.
Similarly, a state labor advisor has also been appointed. Rajiv Ghimire of Jhapa has been appointed as its vice-chairman. Among the members, Bhim Ghimire Biratnagar, Saroj Shrestha Dharan, Sita Upadhyay Morang, Ranju Sigdel Itahari, Kishor Dhamla Biratnagar, Arun Thapa Biratnagar, Narayan Babu Karki Morang, Sunita Ghimire Morang, Tika Prasai Sunsari and Nilam Sah Sonar have been appointed as state labor advisors, said Tiwari.
