ANNFSU demands to deploy enumerators in Kalapani-Lipulekh area

KATHMANDU: OCT. 7 – ANNFSU, a student organization close to the CPN (UML), has demanded that Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura areas be included in the census. UNHCR chairperson Sunita Baral made the demand in a press release.

Stating that the Oli Sharma Oli-led government has included these areas in the political and administrative map of Nepal, the party has demanded to include those areas in the national census. “Even the Sugauli Treaty of March 4, 1816, between the British, India and Nepal and other important historical documents reaffirm that the area belongs to Nepal. We strongly demand that the census work in our Nepali territory be expedited by sending supervisors and enumerators to Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura areas immediately.

Similarly, a student organization close to the Unified Socialist Party had also demanded that the area be included in the census.
