Congress elects 11 district presidents, 7 from Deuba’s side
KATHMANDU: OCT. 7 – So far, presidents have been elected in 11 districts under the 14th general convention of the Nepali Congress.
District conventions of Manang, Rukum-East, Taplejung, Humla, Ramechhap, Mugu, Gorkha, Sankhuwasabha, Kalikot, Dolakha and Mustang have been completed till this morning. In seven of the 11 districts, district president Sher Bahadur Deuba has won.
Gajendra Tumyahang of Taplejung, Shankar Gurung of Manang, Keshar Man Roka of Rukum East, Mohan Bikram Shahi of Humla, Kancharam Lama of Ramechhap, Ain Bahadur Shahi of Mugu and Nanda Prasad Neupane of Gorkha are on Deuba’s side. Dolakha president Burma Lama is close to leader Jipcheng Lama. He is also likely to side with Deuba.
Similarly, Deepak Khadka of Sankhuwasabha and Romi Gauchan of Mustang are close to General Minister Shashank Koirala, while Amma Bahadur Shahi of Kalikot is close to senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel.
