Route permit not required for public transport from today
KATHMANDU: OCT. 7 – From today, route permits will not be required for passenger vehicles. The government has made an arrangement that no route permit is required for passenger vehicles to be implemented across the country.
The Department of Transport Management has stated that such arrangements have been made to facilitate the movement during the festivals including Dashain. Similarly, the operation of heavy vehicles from Narayanghat to Kathmandu, which will be busier from Wednesday, has been banned.
However, the means of transporting essential goods will not be stopped. According to the department, heavy vehicles have been banned till Oct. 20 (Kojagrat Purnima). However, transporters have complained that the government has not been informed about the decision.
