State 1: Building of State Assembly was built, but only temporarily
BIRATNAGAR: OCT. 6 – The newly constructed State Assembly Building of the 1st State Assembly has been inaugurated. The building was inaugurated by State 1 Chief Minister Bhim Acharya on Wednesday. The construction of the state assembly building, which started about a year and a half ago, has been constructed as a temporary building, according to the state assembly secretariat.
By publishing the information on July 3, 2020, an agreement has been reached from September 15, 2020. Although the cost was estimated at Rs 5 crore 17 lakh 73 thousand 994 rupees, the contract was for Rs 251.81 million 976 rupees excluding VAT. Sriswami Narayan Construction Services Dharan 10 Sunsari had started the work after receiving the contract agreement.
Despite the agreement to complete the construction on March 14, 2021, the cost estimate has been increased by extending the deadline. It was ordered to add Rs. 7 lakh 38 thousand 980 to the cost estimate by May 12 by extending the period by two months. According to the Parliament Secretariat, the construction of the building has cost a total of Rs 25.9 million 20 thousand 956 rupees 32 paise.
Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat Gopal Prasad Parajuli informed that the construction of the building cost an additional Rs 5 million 97 thousand 412 apart from this, Rs 1,643,370 has been spent on furniture, Rs 1,677,117 on the sound system and Rs 1,776,925 on interior decoration.
For a long time, the state assembly was operating from a narrow building. Earlier, the Parliament of State 1 was functioning from the hall of the District Development Committee building.
