EPL First Qualifier: Batting Pokhara
KATHMANDU: OCT. 6 – Chitwan Tigers are competing with Pokhara Rhinos for the final entry of the fourth edition of the Everest Premier League (EPL). After winning the toss, Chitwan has invited Pokhara to bat.
Captain Sompal and Sahib Alam, who rested against Bhairahawa, have returned to the team. Experienced Nepali domestic cricket batsman Hasim Ansari has got a chance. Pokhara has made a change in the team. Sunil Dhamala has been given a chance to replace young opener Rit Gautam.
Chitwan was at the top with 4 wins in 5 games and 1 loss. Similarly, Pokhara was in the second position with 7 points including 3 wins and 1 loss in 5 matches. The top two teams are about to play qualifiers. The losing team will get a chance to qualify for the second qualifier.
In the second match to be played today, Bhairahawa Gladiators and Kathmandu Kings XI will compete for third place in the eliminator. The winning team will compete with the losing team in the first qualifier to enter the final. The losing team will be eliminated from the competition.
