One policeman injured in clash during NC convention
KATHMANDU: OCT. 6 – The clash took place in the Bajura district on Tuesday during the 14th general convention of the Nepali Congress. Spokesperson of the District Election Committee Prem Raule informed that a clash took place between the police and the Nepali Congress cadres while they were managing the ballot boxes.
District Police Office Deputy Superintendent of Police Madanjit Mahara said that one policeman was injured in the incident. The condition of the injured policemen is normal. Police have arrested the cadres including Birendra Giri. Spokesperson Raule informed that the counting of votes became uncertain after the clash as preparations were made to count the votes from 11 pm last night.
Kaviraj Pandit, Ram Singh Rawal and Chakra Shahi are vying for the post of president in the district convention of the Nepali Congress. It is said that Congress has 1,212 voters in the district convention.
