There is no truth in the news that the Chief Justice is seeking a seat in the Council of Ministers: Government
KATHMANDU: OCT. 5 – The government has stated that there is no truth in the news that Chief Justice Cholendra Shamser JB Rana has asked for a share in the expansion of the Council of Ministers. Law Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, who is also the spokesperson of the government, told about this. “There is no truth in what is being said as part of the Chief Justice,” Karki said.
Earlier, various media outlets had reported that Chief Justice JB Rana had asked the person he had recommended to be made a minister constitutionally for six months. The Supreme Court had issued a statement on Monday (yesterday) challenging the confirmation. After that, the Nepal Bar Association issued a statement saying that it was unconstitutional to associate the name of Chief Justice JB Rana with the expansion of the Council of Ministers.
Even two and a half months after the formation of the government under the leadership of Sher Bahadur Deuba, the Council of Ministers has not been able to get perfection. Criticism of the government has since begun. However, Karki said that a broad consensus has been reached on issues including the distribution of ministries.
