Submit the report amidst UML slogans
KATHMANDU: OCT. 5 – The meeting of the House of Representatives held on Tuesday (today) ended in 8 minutes. As the meeting began, the main opposition party, the CPN (UML), chanted slogans. Amidst the UML’s sloganeering, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota started the proceedings of the House.
Meanwhile, Speaker Sapkota repeatedly asked for the meeting to be resumed but the UML lawmakers did not stop chanting slogans. Meanwhile, Speaker Sapkota reminded that the issue under consideration in the court could not be discussed in the parliament as per the provision of Article 105 of the Constitution. He also reminded of the provisions of Rule 21, B and C of the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives and urged the House to move ahead.
After the UML’s obstruction, Speaker Sapkota gave time to Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Gyanendra Bahadur Karki to present the annual report of the National Dalit Commission 2076-77 on behalf of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
The next sitting of the House of Representatives, which lasted for eight minutes after Karki submitted the report, is scheduled to be held on Oct. 8 at 1 pm.
