Vaccination for children against COVID-19 after Dashain: Government

KATHMANDU: OCT. 3 – Minister of State for Health and Population Umesh Shrestha has said that vaccination against COVID-19 will be started after Dashain for citizens below 18 years of age.

Speaking at a program organized to hand over health items to Kanti Children’s Hospital, Minister of State Shrestha said that the same vaccine would be given to the citizens under the age of 18 as 4 million Moderna and 6 million Pfizer vaccines against 10 million doses of COVID-19.

He said that the vaccine will be provided to the children by the end of the year. He said that 100,000 Pfizer vaccines will be given after Dashain and then Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will come till Falgun (February/March).

Minister of State Shrestha also claimed that the government has given first priority to vaccination against COVID-19.
