Eight leaders appointed by Congress to coordinate NRNA elections
KATHMANDU: OCT. 3 – The Nepali Congress has given the responsibility to eight leaders to coordinate to make the democratic group victorious in the upcoming tenth general convention of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA). According to the NC Central Office, the leaders will play a coordinating role in five different areas.
Chief Secretary of the Nepali Congress Central Office Krishna Prasad Poudel has written to the chairpersons and coordinators of all the public relations committees abroad with a list of leaders. According to the letter sent to the public relations committees, the responsibility has been given to the Joint General Minister of Europe Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat and Central Member Gagan Kumar Thapa.
Similarly, Central Members Arjun Narasingha K.C. and Arjun Joshi in the Asia Region, Central Member Dr Minendra Rijal in the US Region and Central Member Surendra Pandey in the Oceania Region have been given the responsibility. Party spokesperson Bishwaprakash Sharma and central member Govinda Bhattarai have been given responsibilities in Africa, the Middle East and Public Relations Committee. Bhattarai is also the head of the Congress Public Relations Committee.
The tenth general convention of NRNA is being held on October 23-25. Elections for the term 2021-2023 will be held before the General Convention. Congress has already decided to support the pro-democracy group led by Kul Acharya in the Union elections.
The Congress has also clarified that the leaders in the Central Committee have been assigned the responsibility to coordinate on behalf of the party. Acharya has already announced his candidature for the post of chairperson by organizing a special ceremony in Kathmandu on September 27. Dr Keshav Poudel will be the candidate for the post of General Secretary from Acharya’s team.
