Congress’s Municipal convention in Kathmandu today
KATHMANDU: OCT. 2 – Kathmandu Municipal convention of Nepali Congress is being held today. There will be competition between the Deuba Sitaula faction and the Prakash Man-Gagan Thapa faction in the Kathmandu Municipalities.
In the Kathmandu Municipality, there will be competition between Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba-Krishna Prasad Sitaula and leader Prakash Man Singh-Gagan Thapa. Central member Bhimsen Das Pradhan has formed an alliance with the Deuba faction near Sitaula.
Kathmandu Metropolitan City Nilkaji Shakya will be the candidate from the Prakashman-Gagan faction. Kathmandu Metropolitan Progressive Ranjit will be the candidate from Deuba’s side.
The convention will be held at the National Assembly House from 8:15 am today. The convention will be inaugurated by the convention leader of the metropolis, Prakash Man Singh, said district president Sabuj Bania.
