The contribution of senior citizens is important in economic transformation: Chief Minister Bhatta
KATHMANDU: OCT. 1 – Far-Western Chief Minister Trilochan Bhatta has said that the knowledge, skills and experience of senior citizens have made a significant contribution to the economic transformation of society.
Expressing best wishes to all the senior citizens on the occasion of the 31st International Senior Citizens’ Day, he said that the senior citizens should be mobilized for the economic transformation and development of the society by assimilating their knowledge, skills and experience as they have mature personality in experience and behaviour.
It is mentioned in the congratulatory message that the state government is moving towards creating an environment to transfer the knowledge, skills and experience gained in the role of family, society and national service for a long time by mobilizing for the socio-economic transformation and development of the country.
Stating that the government has been providing various programs and services giving importance to the respect and security of the senior citizens, he expressed his commitment to implement the additional facilities in a way that is felt. They have urged the bodies working in the field of protection and promotion of the rights and interests of senior citizens to perform their duties.
On the occasion of the day, Chief Minister Bhatta has expressed his best wishes to all the people of the state to promote the culture of respect, hospitality, esteem and appreciation of their elders which has been maintained since time immemorial in accordance with social and cultural traditions.
