KATHMANDU: OCT. 1 – Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has been fined. Cricketer Lamichhane has been fined by the Everest Premier League (EPL). Playing as the captain of Kathmandu Kings XI, he was fined a 10 per cent match fee for a slow over-rate in the game against Chitwan Tigers.

Match referee Mohammad Shafiq has imposed the fine. The rest of the players have also been fined 2 per cent of the match fee. Sandeep is the first captain to be sacked due to a slow over-rate in the ongoing tournament.

In Thursday’s match, Kathmandu lost to Chitwan by 3 wickets. Sandeep Lamichhane has captained the EPL for the first time.
