Chitwan tops with two wins
KATHMANDU: SEPT. 30 – Chitwan Tigers have risen to the top of the table with their second win in the Everest Premier League (EPL).
Chitwan defeated Kathmandu Kings XI by 3 wickets in a match played at Kirtipur on Thursday. Chitwan completed the target of 142 runs by losing 7 wickets in 18 overs.
Rajesh Pulami scored unbeaten 26 runs and Kamal Singh Airee scored unbeaten 23 runs in Chitwan’s victory. Dilip Nath contributed 23 runs and Karim Jannat contributed 21 runs.
Kathmandu’s Jitendra Mukhiya and Ryan Burl took 2/2 wickets each.
Batting first after losing the toss, Kathmandu lost 8 wickets in 20 overs and scored 141 runs. Subash Khakurel of Kathmandu scored 35, Raju Rijal 28 and Janak Prakash 26 runs. Sagar Dhakal of Chitwan took 4 wickets and Karim Janat took 2 wickets.
With the win, Chitwan has added 4 points in 2 games. Kathmandu is in the fourth position with 2 points in 2 games.
