Two antibiotics produced by Qmed and Lomas are of poor quality
KATHMANDU: SEPT. 29 – The Department of Drug Management has banned the sale and distribution of drugs of two companies. The department has informed that the medicines produced by Qmed Formulation Pvt. Ltd. and Lomus Pharmaceuticals Pvt.
The department has stopped the sale and distribution of Qmed Pharmaceuticals (Levofloxacin 500mg Tablets) in Chhaling, Bhaktapur and Jefix-100 (Cefixime 100 mg Dispersible Tablets) of Lomas in Gothatar, Kathmandu. Both of these are antibiotic tablets.
The department has also asked the concerned industry to stop the sale and distribution of the drug as per Article 14 of the Drugs Act, 2035 BS and to immediately recall it from the market and submit the details to the department.
