KATHMANDU: SEPT. 28 – CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has objected to the repeal of the ordinance on political parties.

In a meeting with Law Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki in Balkot on Tuesday, Chairman Oli said that the repeal of the ordinance on political parties through President Bidhya Devi Bhandari was conspiratorial and malicious.

“The abrupt closure of the current parliament at midnight and the introduction of the ordinance in the morning was a conspiracy against the main opposition party, which was unconstitutional,” Oli was quoted as saying in a press release issued by Press Assistant Ram Sharan Bajagain. “It is clear that the announcement of the repeal of the ordinance, which was passed in defiance of the bill, disregarding the bill presented in the parliament while it was in session, is unconstitutional, illegal and motivated by malicious intent, aimed at the party system and the main opposition party.”
