TAPLEJUNG: SEPT. 28 – The district hospital in Taplejung has started producing oxygen. The oxygen plant started production last year as soon as it was connected.

Bijaya Rai, information officer of the hospital, said that the problem of importing oxygen from other districts has been removed as regular oxygen production has been started. He said that it would be easier to supply oxygen to all the health facilities in the district as oxygen was being produced in the hospital now.

The contracted technology was supplied by Technology International Suppliers at a cost of Rs 7.15 million, said Dr Soning Lama, acting medical superintendent of the hospital. Dil Bahadur BK, a technician at Suppliers, said that the plant can now produce 20 units of oxygen in 24 hours.
