Nepali Congress settles active membership disputes in 69 districts
KATHMANDU: SEPT. 26 – The ruling Nepali Congress has settled active membership disputes in five more districts. The list of active members of five districts was received by the Election Committee on Saturday.
The list of active members of Banke, Surkhet, Siraha, Mahottari and Dolpa, which were suspended due to the dispute, has been made public. Out of the remaining seven districts, member disputes of three districts have also been settled. But the list of members has not reached the election committee.
The districts where the election committee has not received the list of active members are Parsa, Bara, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Dhanusha, Saptari, Rasuwa and Kailali. Pokharel said that election officials would be deployed in five districts tomorrow. As per the decision of the Nepali Congress, the election committee is preparing to hold the convention up to the municipality level in all 77 districts before Dashain.
