KATHMANDU: SEPT. 26 – Kathmandu Kings XI has made a winning start in the Everest Premier League (EPL) cricket. Kathmandu got off to a winning start by defeating Lalitpur Patriots by 7 wickets in the inaugural match played at the Tribhuvan Stadium, Kirtipur on Saturday.

Kathmandu completed the target of 158 runs by losing 3 wickets in 14 overs. Ryan Burl scored 73 not out and Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 59 in Kathmandu’s victory. Burl hit three fours and seven sixes in 34 balls while Gurbaz hit four fours and four sixes in 36 balls.

Pawan Sharraf of Lalitpur took 1 wicket. Batting first, Lalitpur lost 8 wickets in 20 overs and scored 157 runs. Pawan Sharraf scored 61 runs for Lalitpur while Yogendra Singh Karki contributed 33 runs.

Kathmandu’s Jitendra Mukhiya took 4 wickets. Ryan Burl and Gulshan Jha took 2-2 wickets. With this victory, Kathmandu has added 2 points in the first match. Former winners Lalitpur have a weak start.
