Minister of Foreign Affairs to address the General Assembly in New York on Sept. 27
KATHMANDU: SEPT. 24 – Foreign Minister Dr Narayan Khadka has arrived in New York leading a Nepali delegation to attend the 76th General Assembly of the United Nations.
The delegation led by Minister Khadka was welcomed at the John F. Kennedy International Airport by Nepal’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Amrit Bahadur Rai, Permanent Consul General in New York Bishnu Prasad Gautam and officials from both Nepali missions said Foreign Service Spokesperson Lamsal.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs is scheduled to address the theme of ‘Building Flexibility through Hope, Rehabilitation of COVID-19, Sustainable Reconstruction, Meeting the Needs of the Earth and Reviving the United Nations Respecting the Rights of the People’.
While in New York, he will attend ministerial meetings, hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from various countries, and meet with high-ranking UN officials, Lamsal said. The delegation includes Foreign Secretary Bharatraj Poudyal, Spokesperson Lamsal, Permanent Representative Rai and Consul General Gautam.
