Revised budget verification by the President, opened the way to spend the budget
KATHMANDU: SEPT. 23 – President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has ratified the Appropriation Bill 2078 presented by the government. The bill passed by both the houses of the federal parliament has been ratified by President Bhandari in accordance with Article 113, Clause 2 of the Constitution of Nepal.
Earlier, the revised budget brought by the government was passed by both the houses of parliament. Finance Minister Janardan Sharma had tabled a budget replacement bill amending the budget of Rs 1.647 trillion 57 crores brought by the previous government through an ordinance.
In Nepal, the government has not been able to spend from the Federal Reserve since Sept. 16. The budget brought by the previous government through the ordinance was deactivated on Sept. 15, while the current government could not move the replacement bill in time so as not to create a budget vacuum.
After the information is published in the Gazette along with the verification, the way will be opened for the government to spend the budget.
