Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Leicester in the last 16

KATHMANDU: SEPT. 23 – English clubs Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Leicester City are in the last 16 of the English League Cup. Arsenal beat AFC Wimbledon 3-0, while Chelsea and Tottenham drew in a panty shootout.

Arsenal had a poor performance in the English Premier League this season and had an impressive performance in the League Cup. Alexandre Lacazette made the first win for Arsenal in the 11th minute using a penalty.

Smith Rowe doubled Arsenal’s lead in the 77th minute and Eddie Nketiah doubled Arsenal’s lead in the 80th minute. Arsenal will face Leeds United in the last 16.

Tottenham beat Ulverhampton 3-2 in a penalty shootout in the League Cup on Wednesday night to secure a place in the last 16 as Leicester City beat Millwall 2-0.

Chelsea beat Aston Villa 4-3 in a penalty shootout to advance to the last 16 of the League Cup. The game was pushed to a panty shootout after Wednesday’s scheduled 1-1 draw in the League Cup.

For Chelsea, Romelu Lukaku, Mason Mount, Ross Barkley, Ben Chilwell and Reece James scored while Aston Villa’s Anwar El Ghazi, Emi Buendia and Ezri Konsa scored. Ashley Yong and Marvelous Nakamba failed to score in the penalty shootout.

Earlier, both the teams had scored 1-1 in the second half. Timo Werner gave Chelsea the lead in the 54th minute. 10 minutes later, Cameron Archer returned to Aston Villa.
