Atletico undefeated when Suarez shines

KATHMANDU: SEPT. 22 – Former champions Atletico Madrid have continued their unbeaten run in the Spanish La Liga. Atletico beat Getafe 2-1 in a glittering match with Uruguayan star Luis Suarez. Atletico made a great comeback when they beat Getafe at home on Tuesday night.

Getafe took the early lead of the game but failed to save it. Luis Suarez scored both goals in Atletico’s victory. Getafe’s Stefan Mitrovic took the lead in the 45th minute. But in the 74th minute, Getafe was reduced to 10 players.

Atletico took advantage of Carles Alena’s double yellow (red) card. Atletico equalized in the 68th minute with 68 per cent ball possession. Suarez equalized with a goal from Mario Hermoso.

Then, in injury time, Suarez scored his second individual goal to give the team a crucial victory. Suarez scored an attractive header on a pass from Sime Vrsaljko. In addition, Suarez has scored three goals this season. Suarez became Man of the Match.
