Deuba called a meeting of office-bearers

KATHMANDU: SEPT. 22 – Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is also the Prime Minister, has called a meeting of office-bearers. The meeting is scheduled to be held at Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha at 3 pm.

A meeting of central office bearers has been convened to discuss the party’s 14th general convention and current affairs, said Bhanu Deuba, chief personal secretary to Prime Minister Deuba.

At a meeting of the ruling coalition’s top leaders on Tuesday, it was agreed to immediately appoint Congress leader Dr Narayan Khadka as foreign minister. It is said that the issue will also be discussed in the meeting. It is understood that discussions will also be held on who will be made a minister from the same party.

A necessary decision will be taken about the new date of the district convention which is yet to be held under the Congress General Convention. The party’s active membership details in eight districts of State 2 and 13 districts including Surkhet, Dolpa, Rasuwa, Rupandehi and Kailali have not been made public yet, affecting the previous ward convention schedule in those districts.
