KATHMANDU: SEPT. 22 – The teams that will compete in the 4th Everest Premier League (EPL) Twenty20 cricket are almost ready. Biratnagar Warriors, Lalitpur Patriots, Kathmandu Kings XI, Chitwan Tigers, Bhairahawa Gladiators and Pokhara Rhinos will compete in the competition starting from Saturday in Kirtipur.

This time, the EPL team has brought in famous players from abroad. Due to this, the competition is expected to be attractive.

Former winners Lalitpur and Kathmandu will play in the inauguration. The final match will be played on Oct. 9. The winner will receive a prize of Rs 5 million, according to the organizers.

The clubs have signed former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi, Bangladesh’s Tamim Iqbal, Sri Lanka’s Upul Tharanga, Dhammika Prasad, Asela Gunaratne, South Africa’s Richard Levi, West Indies’ Chandrapaul Hemraj and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza.

Due to them, a glimpse of an international level franchise is expected in the EPL.
