Hearing on the writ filed against Ghising’s appointment

KATHMANDU: SEPT. 21 – A writ petition has been filed against Kulman Ghising, seeking dismissal of his appointment as the executive director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). The writ petition is pending on the bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher.

The then executive director Hitendra Dev Shakya had filed a petition against the government’s decision to appoint Ghising. Earlier, Chief Justice JB Rana had placed the writ petition in his own bench but no hearing could be held.

Outgoing executive director Hitendra Dev Shakya had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court on 16 August seeking revocation of the appointment.
