Congress ward convention in 7 districts including Kathmandu today
KATHMANDU: SEPT. 21 – The convention is being held in seven out of the remaining 20 districts under the upcoming 14th general convention of the Nepali Congress. Ward conventions are being held in Sindhupalchowk, Kavrepalanchok, Kathmandu, Bajura, Kapilvastu, Bardiya and Morang.
The party had scheduled the ward conventions of 20 districts to be held on the same day on Sept. 21. As the committee could not get the active membership details of the remaining 13 districts in time, the ward convention could not be held in those districts on time. Congress has already held ward conventions in 57 districts. The ward convention of the Nepali Congress (NC) has started on September 3.

About nine lakh Congress active members are voters of the party’s ward convention. The active members select the ward committee and regional representative of their ward.
The Congress has scheduled the village/municipality convention on Sept. 25, the State Assembly regional convention on Sept. 28, and the district convention with the only regional assembly constituency on Oct. 1. Similarly, the district convention with more than one constituency is scheduled to be held on Oct. 4, the state convention from Oct. 27 to 29 and the central general convention from Nov. 25 to 29.
