11 days of vaccination is being done across the country from today
KATHMANDU: SEPT. 20 – The government is planning to administer the first dose of corona vaccine Vero Cell for 11 consecutive days from today. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the vaccination will be carried out as a nationwide campaign.
Those who have been vaccinated with the first dose will be re-vaccinated with the second dose from Oct. 21 to 31. Co-spokesperson of the ministry Dr Sameer Kumar Adhikari informed that the four age groups will be vaccinated according to the district. According to him, the citizens above 18 years of age will be vaccinated in Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Solukhumbu, Rasuwa, Jumla, Mugu, Humla, Dolpa, Bajura and Darchula.
The remaining citizens of Kavre and Chitwan above 35 years of age will be vaccinated. Students above 18 years of age will be vaccinated. Similarly, all the remaining citizens above 40 years of age in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Makwanpur, Ramechhap, Sarlahi and Achham and the students above 18 years of age who have failed to get vaccinated will be vaccinated.
In the remaining 58 districts except for Manang, Mustang and Rukum east, all the remaining citizens above 35 years of age and students above 18 years of age will be vaccinated. Apart from that, the Ministry of Health has said that the people who have been working in the front line, essential services, teachers, tourism sector and hotel business will be vaccinated.
While the first dose of the Vero Cell vaccine is being given in other districts, the second dose of the Chinese vaccine will be given in the Kathmandu district from Ashoj (September/October). As 240,000 people who have been vaccinated with the first dose are yet to be vaccinated, the second dose will be administered in Kathmandu.
