KATHMANDU: SEPT. 19 – Doctor Ashesh Dhungana has rejected the medal announced by the government on the occasion of Constitution Day.

He denied that the government of Nepal did not match the level/category of civil servants and academic posts as co-professors as per the Vibhushan recommendation procedure and award criteria 2075.

“I would like to express my gratitude to the Government of Nepal for awarding the award as it does not match the level/category of civil servant as well as my academic post (associate professor) as per the Vibhushan Recommendation Procedure and Award Criteria 2075,” he wrote on Facebook.

Earlier, journalists Krishna Jwala Devkota, Hari Bahadur Thapa, Narayan Amrit and cartoonist Rabin Sayami have also rejected the medal. The government has decided to decorate 900 people saying that they have contributed in various fields.
